Desmopressin Acetate Dosing for Dogs and Cats By Weight
Important Safety Information
For intranasal administration: 2-4 drops (2 mcg) every 12-24 hours intranasally or in eye.
For oral administration: Start with 0.05-0.1 mcg/kg every 12 hours and adjust dose to control clinical signs (polyuria and polydipsia).
Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease or hypertension.

Additional Administration Notes

- Oral Alternative: 0.1 mg (total dose) per dog, PO, three times daily and adjust dose to control clinical signs
- Von Willebrand Disease: 1 mcg/kg (0.01 mL/kg), administered SQ or diluted in 20 mL of saline and administered over 10 min IV
