Special Considerations
- Hepatic disease in dogs: 100 mg elemental zinc per dog q12h PO, or 3 mg zinc gluconate/kg per day, or 2 mg zinc sulfate/kg per day PO
- Dermatologic use: 10 mg/kg daily (zinc sulfate or zinc gluconate)
- Monitor plasma zinc concentrations and adjust dose accordingly
